Ok, first I have a question, and then, so as not to make this thread totally useless after a little bit, this thread will be for discussing iLife.

Question: I went to the Apple website, and configured a Macbook. In the process, it gave me the option of adding software, iLife was included in the list. Doesn't iLife come with Mac OS X?

So after answering my question, go head an talk about iLife here.

You're not confusing iLife with iWork are you?

But yes, iLife is included with every Mac.

iLife is indeed included with any new Mac, sounds like a "feature" of the Apple Store website to me. Send them some feedback :)

I think you're mistaken. You're probably confusing it with iWork. You can scroll down on the config page and see that iLife is included. (It's on the bottom right corner under "Included Software").

He might be confused since stores actually sell iLife '06. By default, all new Macs come with the latest version of iLife available. So people who bought a Mac in 2005 will get iLife '05 and need to pay to upgrade to iLife '06. I don't know if you will automatically get iLife '07 if you purchase Leopard (I doubt it), so that's the real reason why copies of iLife are available in stores.
