You can change the RAM and HDD on the Snow-White iMac, but I think you can only change the RAM on the Aluminum.

This would be a snow white one, if I can trade tomorrow for one so that's cool. Someone wants a notebook and I need a better video card :)

I'm going to miss my macbook though if it does go through :(

I have the Aluminum iMAC and i also wish to change it but there i no way to change it unless of course i take it to the Apple approved rip off store to get it install which by the way charges $300 to install the hard drive + the cost of the hard drive.

The only thing i dislike about Apple is their approved rip off merchant stores and service centre especially in Australia. Although this is not the case in USA where we also live.

I'm not sure if I understand your post, but if it's the Snow White one, you should beable to replace the HDD. But, Apple clearly didn't design it for replacing the HDD, and I'm not sure if it voids your warranty. It's a very tedious process.

I would just want to replace it to a faster 7200rpm drive or one that has more storage space on it.

Is it built like a notebook?

It uses the same components as a notebook does(RAM, HDD, etc.), but I've never opened up my notebooks before xD. There's actually a Youtube video, but yet again, I'm pretty sure opening up your iMac will void your warranty...
Here's a Youtube tutorial for the Snow White:

Yet again, I wouldn't recommend doing it...
