Hi, I'm doing some light video editing for school and I'm going to need slow-motion effects but I'm pretty sure iMovie 08 (which I have) doesn't have that feature.

I read somewhere that iMovie 06 had it though, and Apple made it free to download for the people that were dissatisfied with imovie 08.

I can't find it anywhere on apple's site though. Is there another place I could download it from because I can't find anywhere? Or is there another free video editor for Mac OS I could download?
    Thanks in advance

Apple removed the iMovie 06 download page when 09 came out.

The was a direct download link that worked for a while but it is dead now too. Only way to get it now is to find some one who has an old install DVD...
The bay is working again btw

do you have an intel Mac? buy the Snow Leopard update with the ilife bundled and just use iMovie 09, which has clip speed up, slow down, and reverse.... iMovie 09 is much better than iMovie 08

Isn't it $80 to upgrade just iLife? I had to pay a lot for textbooks and such so I'm kind of strapped for cash :( .

I found imovie 3 for free though on Apple's site but I'm not sure how its features are.

well i just thought maybe if you wanted Snow Leopard anyways, to get the pack.... iLife 09 with education discount is $71 .. big discount :p

    I guess if you don't need iWork, $71 + $29 is cheaper than $169.

I've moved to buying only ebooks... saves me a ton of money.. several hundred a semester, and I only have to carry my laptop around.

Yeah, I'm really considering ebooks, textbook prices are getting insane and companies are pushing out new editions every year.

yep... but some ebooks suck... you can only get them from certain companies the publishers work with. iChapters is probably the worst, its just a buncha pdf files that use some sealedmedia plug in, and you buy them with access only for limited times... but still, i paid $85 for 6 months access for a statistics book that cost $185 to buy the print version, and I have no want to keep the book.

if you have any books that go through Evolve/Elsevier, their ebooks and ebook software is really great... I'm a student nurse, and luckily all our nursing books are through them, and they are fantastic.
