Hi everybody, I tried to go to iMovie tonight to edit some videos, but when I went to import the video, it wouldn't import them. All it did was say "importing video," then it would say "processing video," and then just quit. It only attempts to import a video for about 15 seconds, then stops. Any ideas on what I should do?

EDIT: This is iMovie 08 from the iLife 08 suite.

This might sound weird, but are you up to date with software updates? Your sig still says 10.5.5.

Otherwise, I was about to suggest to download Perian, but those are codecs for Quicktime. Still worth a shot maybe..

Cheers for the rep, and who-hoo 1300 posts :D

I am up to date with all of my software with 10.5.6, and just checked again with software update to see if there was an iMovie update available but there wasn't. I already have Perian installed and working fine, but to no avail. The movie was taken with the I-Sight camera, and is a .mov file.

P.S.- You deserved every bit of that rep. :D

    P.S.S- Congratulations on 1,300 posts!

That's really weird. Try importing the .mov file in some event in iPhoto, and then selecting iPhoto Movies from the library in iMovie.

Other than that, it's either you have to reinstall iMovie, or the file is somehow corrupt or wrong format or something...

    Sorry I can't help more...
