I heard that , iPhone 4s with iOS 5 that only has Siri , but iPhone 4 or below those generation updated with iOS 5 has no Siri. Is that true?

Didn't expect siri is still a beta , hopefully cydia development makes siri as an apps.

Although I think that the iPhone 4 has already been hacked to run Siri I don't think that all functionality is there...

There is no reason the iphone 4 cannot run Siri, but I don't think it will very easily. Siri is not run locally on the iphone. It communicates with apples servers to determine it's response. The servers are programed to only respond to 4S service requests. I can't remember which tech article published this, but it can be googled. The hacker did manage to make his iphone 4 "look" like a 4S to the servers, but it was not through a replicate-able means I think.

It may or may not be difficult for the jailbreak community to enable Siri on the iphone 4. One thing for sure, if it does happen, it will only be for jailbroken iphones.

The other thing about Siri right now is that it only has US support for local searches and such; the international roll out of Siri isn't until next year.

I guess I missed the part where having an electronic device that will talk back at me and say things like "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" is a GOOD thing.

    I like this part :

Q : What's the best phone in the world?
Siri: "Wait … there are other phones?"

I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

Siri can be installed on a iphone4 but apple won't give it access to their servers. the Cydia Team is working on Siri for jailbroken phones as we speak.

This is pure speculation on my part but I believe Siri is locked to the iPhone 4s for a reason other than what Apple stated. Their claim was that the iPhone 4s is the only one powerful enough to run Siri despite the iPad 2 still being more powerful than it. My guess is that Apple's servers would not be able to handle the traffic if they opened up Siri to the iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, and 4G iPod touch (essentially anything with an A4 and above). Nothing would be more annoying than asking my iPad 2 "what is the weather like today?" only to have to wait 5 minutes before it spits out an answer.

So I can understand why Apple is limiting Siri to just the iPhone 4s at this point but that doesn't stop it from sucking. I want my iPad 2 to talk back to me dammit!

Isn't it more likely that Apple needed something to make the iPhone 4S launch "distinctive", and Siri was the only "new" feature that was readily marketable? If they simply packaged it as part of iOS 5 and made it available to existing users, the iPhone 4S would only be an incremental update (a good one, but still merely incremental).

and the most likely reason is that they had a boardroom meeting discuss how to release siri, considered many variables, and decided to put it out for the 4s only. I'm sure marketing and server load testing for beta both came up in the meeting.

What I really don't get is why its not on the iPad 2. The iPad 2 is more powerful, so it really should run Siri.

I think you misread my tone. I'm bemused by the whole Siri thing, not offended.
