Okay, so I was thinking of stopping by South Coast Plaza's Apple store on Saturday to take advantage of the education discount PLUS the printer promo PLUS the back to school free iPod promo. I was wondering, if I picked up an 8GB iPod touch, would it already be updated to OS 3.0? As we all are aware of, iPod touch users are charged a fee of $10 to upgrade their firmware; hopefully, the new iPods in the store would already have that firmware.
Thoughts?

Hmm, I don't know, it might get a free update. Just ask them. But I thought the free ipod + printer was only online :|

I'm pretty sure it's in store too, but can anyone confirm this?

I just checked and the promo is available in brick and mortar stores. I can't find anything about the update, I don't remember what they did last time. It's might just update when you first connect it. If not $10 for a iPod Touch isn't a bad deal
iPod touch OS updated yet?
