just wondering what ssd is it and how well does it performance compare to x25m. according to Anandtech:
Apple's MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD: Performance and Battery Life Investigated - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News
"On the drive we have a total of 16 Samsung SLC NAND Flash chips, each one 8GB in size"...
so if it is SLC instead of MLC, doesn't that mean it has more value compare to a x25m???
-
its more or less a generic SSD, as for speed its in the average to below average speed especially with the new Indellix and Sandforce based units.
as for SLC vs MLC, that is still an ongoing debate.
as for the drive you linked to Memoright has moved to a sandforce based MLS SSD unit. and please note your link is from 2008. it by no way shows what is in the current MBP's
http://www.storagesearch.com/memoright.html
All current MBP's I have had my hands on use a midrange Samsung or Toshiba MLC drive, all of the 256GB's have been Toshibas that I have personally seen. -
if it's SLC that explains why it's a 300$ upgrade...
I wish apple would make it MLC and a 100$ upgrade. -
that was from 2008, all apples current drives ARE MLC now. only SLC I have seen direct from a manufacturer are in some of the Elitebooks and the Panny CF-31
info and spec on apple's 2010 mbp 128gb ssd?
