First off sorry if this is the wrong forum. But a local store has the previous generation of MBPs (so basicly still using santa rosa, and no trackpad fancy stuff). Anyway it is a 15' with the 256MB card, 2.4gig processor, 2 gigs of ram, 160GB HDD. They are selling it for 1999.99 CND. Is this a good deal if I can get a new one for the same price through a student discount? Of I am looking at getting a refurbed one (student discounts dont work on those do they?)

That's not bad.. I thought about those a few weeks ago (from Future Shop) but decided to get a new Penryn MBP instead.
