I ordered it friday and will receive it tomarrow afternoon, *rubs hands together* cant waiiittt :p

And to WilliamG, how was the heat on the 17" that you reviewed?? Was it noticably cooler than the 15" mbp SR model?? I know that since the 17" does have more space for the heat to dissipate that it would be cooler but with a 45nm chipset, I'm expecting it to be really cool.

Oh man I just love 17" mbp/powerbook, I love the speakers on the thing and just on your lap (preferably with the ilap) with your palms resting on the sides with the extra room feels great!

    Congratulations!!

I'm not sure about the heat issue, though also note that the 15" MBP's graphics card is underclocked slightly, so the 17" MBP's card will generate some more heat. But that might note be enough to overwrite the extra heat capacity due to the size advantage.

Seems an interesting purchase when you have the 15.4" but who am I to question this?

Anyway, heat-wise, it still gets warm (not a "laptop" under full load, that's for sure), but the size really helps with the dissipation. Hopefully you'll get a good system with no issues. :)

I cant wait.. I know that the mbp doesnt come close in the speed department as the mac pros, but if I like the 17" that much, I'm seriously considering selling my 15" sr mbp and the mac pro on my sig and putting it all in the bank and use the single 17" mbp + 23" ACD.
