are they all owned by ign or something i hate their ads that take up the entire screen.
-
LOL thats awesome .. I didn't even notice it
-
that ad is like a respond to the windows ad that just came out not long ago..
i think the funniest part is the part when the pc guy tries to imitate bill gates -
I like flashblock.
-
Cool ad! One of the VERY few times I regret adblock/flashblock
-
I like the PC Newswire, that one I thought was quite good!

*sigh* every time I see a Mac ad, I think of the Republicans. They are both feeding misinformation to the masses, the difference being that the Republicans blatantly lie while Apple merely stretches the truth to a highly unreasonable degree.
Sadly, in America, both are doing extremely well. Does that tell you something about this country?
(disclaimer: I am not an anti-Mac fanboy - I own an iMac, an iPhone, and three iPods.) -
There's at least one other difference, Redline: the Mac ads are humorous, or at least thry're meant to be so.
I like Apple's ads; the PC guy is hysterical. I use PCs (though not often with Windows), and Macs, and would not be happy if I had to give up either. -
I agree...I don't personally like all the jabs towards Windows and all the sometimes awkward praises for Mac too, but nearly everyone enjoys the ads, I think, in the sense that they're funny, they're memorable, and really, everyone focuses on PC Guy. Honestly. Even Apple shows that quite often: Mac Guy is there to do a line promoting Mac and make a comment or too about what PC Guy is doing, but its all focused on "how does PC Guy screw up this time"? What's so funny that he does this time around? Mac Guy isn't funny...
-
sense when are the Republicans doing well?
-
I think you hit the nail on the head, Sam.
Uh... since 2000. (Or since 1994, if you count getting the majority in Congress.)
Actually, since 1980... with the exception of Bill Clinton's presidency. -
Or, in more recent history, since McCain turned what was an 8 point difference in the polls into a virtual dead heat just by announcing that some corrupt, inexperienced <s>pitbull</s> hockey mom from Alaska would be his running mate.
And by doing well, I meant that they are winning elections. Not doing the country any good, but doing better than the Democrats as a party.
It is true though, the Mac ads are meant to be funny, and are. Or rather, I'd find them funny, if I didn't find the effect they are having is so disconcerting, as they are based on some rather sketchy statements.
(I'd say something about how the Republican campaign tactics are rather amusing except that their effectiveness with the American people is nothing short of horrifying - but I think we should get back on topic...sorry about the political discourse)
mac ad on engadget...
