    macbook 5,2. Could i upgrade to a 500gb 7200rpm hd?

    I have an early 2009 white macbook 5,2 and according to wiki it says optional 160 gb 250 gb and 320gb hd. only mid 2009 white macbook 250gb, 320gb and hd. so im not sure i can use 500gb on mine. has anyone done it?

    Look @ the chart for your model. I does not look like 500GB drives are supported unfortunately. It looks like someone has experimented and got it to work,

    Yes place in any 2.5" sata drive of choice and it will work just fine ;)
    The hitachi 500gb 7200 is a nice drive for the macbook
    Apple uses them hitachi all the time.

    To be clear, any 2.5" X 9.5 mm will be fine

    As has been said....yes, any 2.5 inch, 9.5mm, SATA drive will work.
