Im looking to get a macbook.
One thing that scares me is the integrated graphics.
For most things I do on a computer is not graphic intensive.
However, I would mainly have this hooked up to a 19inch wide screen.
I would like to run booth screens, the external and the macbooks screen together.
I would like to watch TV on the macbook, using usb tuner, and computer stuff on the 19inch.
Is this to overbearing for the integrated card?
Also, I use my comp/external 19inch to watch movies.
    Would movies look bad?
Would I be able to tell a difference doing the above applications, vs say, a g7400? <<----This is my main question.

The macbook, would be the c2d, 2.0, 1g.
My monitior is vga, 1400x900 envision.
(remember I want to run both simultaneously)

I give thanks in advance, and in general, there is always a wealth of knowledge on this site.

This should work just fine, remember that the USB tuner handles a lot of the workload in hardware. A dedicated GPU will only make a real difference for 3D and HD decoding.

I've strained the gma950 for 2d use with an external monitor. My monitor's a WUXGA, so it doesn't get much (any) worse than that. There was a noticable drop in performance though.

Oh, it'll chug a bit at WUXGA (1920x1200) but it should handle WXGA+ (1440x900) just fine... WUXGA has almost double the pixel count of WXGA+.

Well if i run both monitors at once, thats kinda like a wuxga.
Will it chug? And what do mean chug, like the computer slows down?
    Or the visual looks bad?

If the visual looks bad, how bad?
    My movies look good? Still.

I wanna get the Macbook, because i can get it at a store, and its cheaper,
otherwise its a sony fe, with a ge7400, but its more, and i have to ship it.

How bad is it to run both monitors at once with the macbook.
Will the comp suck to do stuff on, will my visual look like crap, and run slow?
Because my current set up is bad, and when i move a window around, the visual still stays where it was , and where i moved it to. Is that a graphics thing?

When I say "chug", I mean you may notice some lag or slowdown. Everything will still look good, unless there's an issue with your graphics drivers... which sounds like the problem you're having with your current machine.
