Hey guys...just picked up a macbook pro monday and had a quick question about the battery. I was wondering about the recharging of the battery. If i go to class and use up say, 30% of the battery, should i used up most of the battery before plugging it in? Or does that even matter. I know the ipod batteries use some kind of speed recharge, like charging up to 80% in speed mode and then slow charging the last 20%, so i heard that you should use up most of the ipod battery and then fully charge it. Is this the same with the macbook pro batteries.

Also, should i keep it plugged in when im at home using it, when the battery is already fully charged...or should i use battery power once it is 100% charge...or does it even matter. Thanks!

it's better not to completely discharge these batteries

going down 30-40% b4 charging is actually perfect. These don't need to be totally discharged, there is no "memory" in them.

it doesn't hurt a bit to keep it plugged in..... your call
