Sometimes I put my 17'' MBP (latest model with SSD) to sleep (hibernation disabled), I found the system unresponsive if I try to wake it up.
I know this problem has existed for some years, has it been solved yet?

I have seen that happen once or twice on several machines... but I lose the lid and wait a few minutes until the light starts pulsing again, then usually on the second try it wakes back up fine. This has been very rare for me, I usualyl leave my machines asleep and never shutdown... only rebooting when I have to for an update.

I had this issue. It was a program I left open that caused it from not waking back up. I would shut the prog down before shutting the lid and it fixed my issue. Don't rem the prog since I ended up uninstalling it but you may want to try narrowing it down from there
