one of the main reasons i am canceling an m1330 dell notebook is the cost and the delay.

I am considering a macbook. How fast are apple with shipping and such?

The MacBook is shipping pretty fast. No delays that I know of. Only the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro is getting a delay because of high orders.

The Apple Store gives shipping estimates: currently all MacBooks within 24 hours.

Once you select a particular model and make any type of customization, Apple will update the estimate. And as you progress through the various steps (add the MB to your cart, enter your shipping information, etc.) you will be given an estimated delivery date range.

You may then ask, "Well how accurate are these estimates?" And I would say, "Bloody accurate." Your MB could even arrive before the estimated delivery date.

If your main concern is how quickly you get the machine, you may want to consider buying refurbished. They ship, and arrive, much quicker because they ship out of the United States.

i ordered a macbook through my department - which orders through apple - on august 8th, and still no word. apple says that there is an industry-wide lcd panel shortage and delivery is "in excess of 10 business days." garbage.

that sucks... last i checked their website they ship out the MB's next day. My MBP though needed about 10 business days to ship out though, because of the LED-LCD screen.

well, ordered august 8th... it shipped the 15th from shanghai, now its in indianapolis. long story short, i won't get it until monday at the earliest. *sigh*

12 day turn around is not very good, especially since apple states that the macbooks ship "within 24 hours." more like "within 1 week, once we feel like getting around to it" in my opinion.

I'm so impressed with Apple right now, I'm jumping for joy.

I was just checking my order status for the hell of it, even though I thought it was a pointless exercise until at least a week into my order and I was pleasantly surprised.

After waiting a month for Dell, then another week for Dell to give me my money back...

Ordered on Wednesday, shipped today (Friday) and I'm getting my new MBP on Monday!
