i'd consider getting a macbook (the ones that aren't out just yet) only if it has a dedicated gfx card.
i see the new mac mini's use intel gfx, which is absolutely unacceptable for a company that claims to be better for gfx.
anyone know the specs?
-
No exact specs yet, just rumors. I'm hoping for a dedicated video card as well, but integrated gfx won't bother me too much.
-
The updated Intel-iBooks should have a dedicated GPU in the 14" model at least, but I'm betting the 12" model will have a dedicated GPU too (Apple placed the same GPU in the 12" model as they did in the 14" model). I'm guessing the GPU will be ATI X1400/1300s or Nvidia 7400s.

i thought the macbook coming out was a 13.3" screen...

The iBook lineup is supposed to inclued a 13.3" notebook, but I'm uncertain of what GPU will be in it, that's all. Given Apple's past track record with the other iBooks they've released, the new 13.3" notebook should include a GPU that's in the rest of their notebooks.

a friend is considering a macbook pro, how does she know it doesn't have the heat and battery problems? i really have no idea
-
I've read in more than one place Apple will eliminate the 12" & 14" and go with a 13.3". All speculation at this point.
-
my money is on intel 950 for the video card. which sucks but after i've played with os x 10.4.5 i have given up on ever wanting a mac box of any kind.
