Can't figure this one out on my own. I want win7 (virtualbox'd) to open on desktop 2 every time I start it, and I want it to do this even after a shutdown/reboot (since I'm aware I could just leave the vm open on desk2 and not shut it or the computer down). If desktop 2 hasn't been created yet (ie after a reboot) then create the desktop and move the window to it.

Same thing applies to other normal apps such as minecraft or word. How do I make this happen?

edit: I figured out a simple way to do it but I'm not sure if it will persist across reboots - does anyone know if mission control reopens desktops/saces by default on reboot?

If you select the Keep Active Windows option in the shutdown window, then your desktop settings will be preserved on reboot.

Not positive it will work for a VM, but I use this to keep my mail, financial and safari windows locked on desktop 2 when I occasionally have to reboot the iMac, with several of my wife's windows locked into desktop 1.

Made an alias/shortcut that uses virtualbox's built in command lines so that I can directly launch the vm I want without having to open vbox first, and then just rightclicked that shortcut (which is placed on my dock) and set options to > appears on this desktop (space 2).

It seems to persist across reboots which is great. If you want the exact command lines I used lemme know.
