Just got my macbook pro last week and i've been having no problems so far. But occasionally in Safari my mouse pointer freezes for a couple seconds after I enter a new address. I don't have a mouse plugged in and it's definately not another finger accidentally on teh mousepad. Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks.

I have a similar problem with mine. It occurs in both Windows (via bootcamp) and Mac OS (although to a lesser degree).

The fact that it occurs on OSX to a lesser degree may just be that I use Windows more and for most of my critical work and so notice it more.

In my case the cursor simply freezes for upto 10-20 seconds sometimes. Although it started like yours as only a couple of seconds. Have been advised by Apple to take it in, but have been away on holiday. Will update you with what the service people say. I'm guessing the track pad will need replacing.

The other issue I have is the system freezes for a few seconds when the wireless connects/disconnects/etc. Not normally a major problem, unless your having a bad reception day, when the wireless is dropping on and off regularly. Makes the laptop un-useable.

You can tell the two apart by pressing a keyboard key. I typically use the Windows key to bring the Start menu up. If the system responds, its the trackpad issue. Otherwise its the wireless that dropped and reconnected.

Hope this helps, I would try a re-install, to eliminate a SW problem (as thats what tech support will point to first). And if it still happens, call tech support.

No, I don't have saft installed.
I've also started to notice that it's also freezing momentarily in Microsoft Word for OSX.
