I've been posting these on another mac forum I frequent but thought I'd share it with the NBR community. I will be updating this as I bench. I will be linking my WoW youtube video also.

3dmark06?
How's the battery life? -
lol yeah 06, cuz I guess 11 won't work. Or so I heard, so didn't bother.
battery seems to be about same as before. I just got it yesterday so been doing more work than I normally do with benching, transfering data etc. But I had it unplugged just chillin at idle on full battery, half brightness which is what I usually roll with and it's calculated at 7:25. About the same calculation as my 320m model of last year, if anything maybe a half hour less? -
That 3000 is quite the IGP. I'm genuinely surprised by what Intel was able to bring to the table.
How much did you sell your 13" for, if you don't mind me asking? -
might be interesting ...
Apple Macbook Pro 13" without Intel Turbo Boost -
sold it for $1100 about two weeks before the release. Basically knew I would be upgrading, I expected the HD3000 in the new ones but only figured it could get better but no worse. I was surprised by the inclusion of the top dual core i7 and that's what I wanted b/c for the games I play dual core works best for me. Plus I needed the 13" form factor. But yeah I resell very often and got this sold within 3 hours off Craigslist. Only thing I did was drop in a $68 upgrade of 8GB ram. I think that helped
updated OP with WoW BH10 raid and SC2 4v4. -
Thanks for posting this. What differences have you noticed in gameplay in WoW between the 2010 and 2011?
-
With the ssd are you getting the instant on and quick boots like the air? Thinking of getting rid of my alien ware m17x r3 for this. I miss snow leopard.
-
Yeah if you watch my boot video above, yeah boots are super super fast.
As for instant on I don't even know what this means, but like if I sleep my computer and open the lid back up? I'd say it loads everything up super fast. I'll have to make a video of that.
As for WoW 2010 vs 2011 I have not noticed any major differences. I am able to run with the Intel HD3000 just as well as the 320m and if not better in terms of CPU settings I can turn up ultra view distance since that's CPU based setting. I didn't do that on my 2010 to compare though. -
Yes that is what I meant. Apple markets instant on as how fast the laptop wakes from sleep. Thanks.
-
So it still runs really hot, huh? I wonder if Apple even cares...

I just tried the geek bench and cinebench on my mbp13 2011 base model.
Geekbench: 5812.
Cinebench
OpenCL 10.87 fps
CPU 2.59 pst
OP, you might want to add this into your post so users can compare.
Does having SSD raise the score? Also, do I need to have power plugged in for this?
I just ran this benchmark while in my bed. I only have like 10 hours experience on the mbp13, but I don't think it even gets warm. I don't play any games on this so that may be why. -
ltcommander_data Notebook Deity
I think some of Geekbench's tests are I/O dependent so SSD would help. And it's better to run plugged in since it probably won't SpeedStep and downclock as aggressively to save battery life.
Can you run the OpenGL Extension Viewer in OS X and report on the OpenGL support on the HD 3000? I'm interested to see if it's comparable to current ATI and nVidia GPUs in OS X which support 22/23 in OpenGL 3.0, 1/8 in OpenGL 3.1, and 3/9 in OpenGL 3.2.
OpenGL Extensions Viewer -
geekbench is purely memory and cpu. no hdd etc. xbench factors in your HDD though.
also in OSX the fans won't let it get above 90C so no big there. Ididn't experience any throttling on my intel burn test although I cannot get it to turbo boost in windows. I got a higher benchmark in OSX than windows using cinebench wonder if it's just windows not turbo boosting. -
Why would they?
It's new and shiny with a fruit logo.....buy it!
(But in all seriousness the 17 inch looks decent...anyone got one yet?) -
The MBP doesn´t clock down.
Review (translated with google translator) -
I got my mbp 13 2011 i7 a week ago.
geekbench 32-bit says score of 6870.
I'm a student and I'm loving this MacBook! BUT: I tested some steam games like CS:Souce or DoD:Source and it runs great but what the fans are really noticeable(around 6000rpm), which is no problem for me but when I started iStat I saw CPU temps about 85°-93° degrees (celsius). I don't care about lound fans or hot unibody but my question is, if this is normal or even bad for any components. This Book should really live a few years.
@ aznguyen316:
What about your temps? are temps like this acceptable or sould I start to worry?? what about the temps in Win7? I didn't test yet but are the temps there too high to game a bit?
!!!No question the 13´mbp is no gaming notebook but its the only one fitting my needs and i love it. I just want to play a few games.!!!
Thanks! -
17" 2011... forced the Intel HD 3000 on...
100% up through 2.1.
3.0 18/23
3.1 1/8
3.2 3/9
3.3 through 4.1 are all 0.
the Radeon 6750 isn't much better
100% up through 2.1.
3.0 22/23
3.1 1/8
3.2 3/9
3.3 through 4.1 are all 0.
just 4 more 3.0 extensions over the Intel -
Your temps look fine. WHen mine hit upwards of 93C the fan would ramp up full blast and bring it back down some. No big! Only happens when I game in WoW or encode.
-
Alright great! I think I got a nearly perfekt notebook for me (only GPU could be better) Do you think Total war shogun 2 or assasins creed 2 run playable on bootcamp?
my 2011 13" i7 MBP Benchmarks geekbench + gaming etc
