Tons! The obvious is iLife which is bundled with every new Mac, but there are also little things that OS X does that people overlook. For one Preview can read and print PDF files, the built in burner can burn .iso's, Automator has to be one of the coolest programs I have ever seen. Basically you can make your own programs to do things like automatically post photos to a blog or automatically rip a DVD when you insert it. The sky is the limit. Security is another obvious. Hooking up an external monitor is as easy asplugging it in. OS X automatically resizes itself correctly and scales everything perfectly, never had a notebook that could handle that easily before. Front row is great. It can run Windows. Better community than Windows IMO. Excellent support.

The are, in my opinion only 2 reasons not to go Mac. Businesses are one and gaming is the other. Although with BootCamp those are becoming less important.

**EDIT** I forgot also ease of use, backlit keyboard (MBP) and self adjusting brightness on the LCD. Oh and they are all drop dead gorgeous!

If you do play game on MBP on a 19" monitor will it be able to support 1280x1024 rather than just 1024x748?

It depends on the game. The x1600 will probably display any resolution the game will allow it. Will it be playable? Depends on the graphics requirement. 1280x1024 should be no problem. Anything higher might get a little hairy.

You also will probably want to up the amount of RAM in your notebook for a fast, quick boost in power.

I wish I could go on with the features and continue where cashmonee left off, but um Expose is great, and just the whole idea of all the little things Apple adds, this is one thing you can't view in a store, you see all the small things that just delight you when you own one.

Just something you gotta see for yourself on that part.

Indeed, Exposé is probably the greatest wow-factor utility in OS X. Open a few Quicktime videos, Safari with some Flash animations, a DVD, play a game in windowed mode. Activate Exposé and see all you Windows-based friends stare in awe.

Another trick that is sure to gather a few "ohhhh"s is installing the latest version of Virtue Desktops with built in motion sensor support, install Parallels and Windows, and change operating systems with a tap on the side of your notebook.

Finally, MacSaber is also nifty specially if you are an Star Wars fan like I am (it may look stupid, but it is fun). Wait! There is also iAlertU (even though I haven't tried it yet, it is a show off allright).
