how are the new macbook pro's for getting hot? For example using on your lap, does it get uncomforatable?
This was a problem with older MBP's I'm wondering if it's the same, better or worse with the new 2.5ghz processor.

They're much cooler than the old ones. If you're waring shorts and plan on playing Crysis for 5 hours, I wouldn't recommend holding the computer in your lap.
But if you're just planning on surfing the web or downloading whatever, or just your regular non-gaming use of the computer, your lap will be fine

Comapred to a T500 how do you think the heat would be for doing business tasks and a small amount of photo and video editing?
-
using the 9400 and not doing anything extremely intensive it stays cool, around or a little above room temp.
-
It definitely runs a lot cooler with the 9400 video card. It tends to run a tad hotter with the 9600.
-
... what kind of temperatures do you keep your room at?
When I first wake up in the morning, and bring my MBP out of sleep, it'll be around 89F. And that's on a chilled wooden desk sitting next to a thin window. In a few minutes, it'll be up to 110F, running only Adium, FF, and sometimes iTunes. -
I was about to say. for light browsing and nothing intensive, it will hover right around 100F give or take. Whatever your room temp is, electronics will always be higher since its creating heat AT whatever room temp is.
