The score is good enough to play the latest titles with average to high setting.

your 3dmark score barely relates to your ability to play games.
its loosely related to it, i guess, because it tests the rendering capability of your gpu, but honestly i have found that 3dmark scores often just dont correlate well to actual game performance.

from what i have tested (i also just bought the same notebook) you can play the latest games with the settings maxed out.

Is this the 15" or the 17"?

To Masterchef341: When you game on your laptop, are you playing at 1440x900, or are you lowering the resolution?

    1440x900.

source based games like that 8600gt a LOT.

give me some time to give my official word on other games like prey, FEAR, quake 4, and rvs vegas.

then i will have a nice representation from a nice wide variety of engines- doom 3, proprietary, and ut3, and source.

all of which are pretty old engines so it wouldn't be too big a suprise if they performed well
