Maybe spend a bit of time with your Mac before posting about everything you have trouble with.

    haha ya. I know..

But anyways.. I am trying to connect to a wireless network and basically, I am getting a signal, but it won't let me get online. Anyone know what I need to do? Like do I need to do anything in the airport settings? I can't try it anywhere else cause I am staying with my g/f and it is in the middle of the boonies.. ha.

Thanks for any help and ya I know ha ha, laugh at the new mac user. And ya I should have spent more time with it cause I did figure it out..

    Thanks though

I know, I tried that. But her bro said there shouldn't be a password, but gave me one to try anyways..

Would it still show a connection even though I would need a password? Basically, under the airport it shows a check next to their connection but when I click on Safari, it says no internet connection...

What's the strength of the signal? You'll see a set of vertical bars underneath where you see the menu of available connections. Make sure there's at least some there. You can be connected without enough signal for getting on the internet. On that note, make sure their wireless router is actually connected to the internet. It does no good to connect to a wireless router that's not connected to anything else.

It could also be one of those really cheap ones that won't work with a mac too. They're rare, but they exist.

Hey, the signals were 4 out of 5 or 3 out of 4 whatever it is, it was one away from full. Also the router is connected to the internet because I unplugged the ethernet cord from the router and plugged it into my mac and it worked fine, also 3 of there 4 computers are on the wireless..

I just don't understand why it would show almost full bars but not let me on the internet. Anyone have an idea?

Also, it is a Linksys Wireless G Router, the blue one with 2 antennas.. If that helps.
