So this is for apple. I have a 512k and I need to replace the CRT. How hard is this or should I just buy another 512k to use. Noted I have a parts one that I use for this one and the CRT is in there and a 128k would be useless to harvest when I'm about ship it off. I also need a new housing as mine fell apart the other day so I might buy a new one and swap stuff.
Sent from my iBook G3 Snow that fell apart.

I am thinking that you should just get another and keep your current one for parts. Swapping a crt is NOT like swapping an LCD.

Agreed, working with CRT's can be dangerous if the person is not experienced. Handling a CRT that has not been properly discharged is asking trouble.Aivxtla, Wyoming88! and kojack like this.

I have experience with it but not with macintosh crts I did it on my parents tv like 2-3 years ago. And I did one on a Compaq Portable and so on. I might harvest it for parts and my iBook has a new housing from anoth G3 snow that I bought on eBay.
old stuff in general
