yesterday i downloaded Safari 3.0, and windows media player. and since then my msn messenger has been crap. whenever i close a chatbox, the whole programme just shuts down and asks me to send an error report.

do you know why is that happening?

    I'm assuming you're in Mac OS X...

I've had problems with MSN Messenger for Mac as well. And so have several people, most of the time it just suddenly closes. I'd recommend you switch over to Adium, I decided to switch afterwards as well. Its a much better IM client to MSN Messenger for Mac.

I've read several comments about this very topic on other forums, and the solution seems to be to uninstall Safari.

Did you uninstall it properly, using the uninstaller that came with it? Or did you just drag it to the trash?

You have such a gracious, thoughtful way of asking for and accepting help, I feel an underwhelming urge to offer anything further.
