does microsoft licenses online and allow people to download windows?
i want to install windows on my mbp with bootcamp but the windows i have doesnt have sp2 built in
i need a new copy but i really dont wanna to wait for shipping and im at college and dont have a car to go buy windows at a store
i couldnt find anything in their site except for development versions which are exe and even then im not sure if i could purchase a license after installing those versions

If you can find an http or ftp site to download windows, then yes it is legal as long as you have a valid key. P2P file sharing, however, is illegal as you are sharing as you're downloading.
You can call Microsoft, and they'll let you know what you should do. -
Check with your University, they may have a software agreement with Microsoft which would allow you to purchase Windows at a significant discount.

There are a variety of ways to slipstream SP2 into a Windows install disk. Instructions should be floating around this forum somewhere.
