I have installed and gotten my 15 day trial of parallels, and ive started it up on the "typical VM" and i get this message in the virtual window: "No boot device available, press enter to continue"

what is my next step here?

I think you need to install Windows in some way, but I really don't know. I would look to a more mac-centric or parallels-type forum.

You need to either insert a bootable Windows installation disc or mount an iso of a bootable Windows installation disc. That screen you're referring to would be the initial BIOS initialization on a fresh PC. You're not getting anywhere because there's nothing to boot off...essentially a blank hard drive, no bootable CD and no floppy inserted. http://forums.parallels.com

BTW, I'm loving Parallels, both on the Mac and the PC/Workstation version.
