So, I am not sure if its a rMBP thing or the mouse's fault... but is anyone's mouse super laggy? This is the first mac I have used the mouse with, so it very well could be the mouse, but I just wanted to see what everyone thought.

Not laggy so much as slow. But it's easily fixed in the settings by speeding up the mouse tracking.

Ya, the out of the box performance is set to something like 600 (so it feels). I changed it to around 1000. It still feels to me like its not very responsive though.

I picked up a Magic Mouse today and am not seeing any of the issues you're describing, either in OSX or in Windows 7 x64. I haven't made any tweaks to the control panels or to the hardware - I'm using it pretty much straight out of the box. Could be something simple like poor batteries? Otherwise I might suspect the mouse itself.

The battery meter was reading pretty low... I'll try a fresh set. Thanks for the heads up.

Download "bettertouchtool" and set the mouse speed to be higher

This app can override the system preferences setting so you can overdrive the mouse sensitivity

This is what I have to do to make my magic mouse usable in OS X

I really have always wondered why Apple mice track SO DAMN SLOW. At their fastest setting in the stock preferences it's still slow as molasses.

Not to derail the OP's issue, but I've been noticing some lagginess in the scrolling feature myself. It still seems to track fine in OSX and Win7.

Overall, I'm going to give the Magic Mouse the rest of next week to convince me. Thus far I'm not all that impressed but maybe I just need to get used to it. Generally speaking I'm finding the touch features to be too sensitive (scrolling when I try to click, right clicking when I mean to left click, etc.). Going to download the bettertouchtool tonight to see if I can fix that in OSX - I'll have to see if there's anything I can do with it in Win 7.
