I just want to share how my rMBP and iPad look with Stickerboy skin I choose silver carbon because it match better with the aluminum and the texture has some grip
the skin makes the rMBP feel stronger because before it was kind of flimsy on the bottom cover when I grab the machine now it feels more like a flat piece of aluminum also the carbon fiber isolates the heat when using in my lap
I think this is the closest experience to a naked macbook or ipad without sacrificing the size and weight , never really liked cases that make the ipad look thicker and heavier same goes for the macbook

What kind of glue is used with these skins? If you decide to remove the skin later, what gets left behind?
Are the skins shaped for the subtle curves of these devices?
Looks cool. Considering doing my iPad or something to try it out.
Thanks

No residue left if you decide to remove it.
Yes they are shaped for the subtle curves. -
I agree it looks cool - maybe in a slightly darker color for my tastes. The skins are vinyl though, does it really restrict heat on the bottom? Did you notice if there are any heat dissipation issues from the chassis (i.e. increased fan noise, hotter exhaust, etc.)?

I'm thinking of ordering the dark carbon for my phone or iPad. They have a pretty nice variety of shades and colors.
See http://www.stickerboy.net -
Yeah, I was looking at them - all quite reasonably priced. For some reason I'm attracted to the brown leather one, but I can't imagine what effect wrapping the thing in fake cowhide might have on temperatures.

on the rMBP it still feel warm but not as warm like naked and it doesn't change any of the internal component temps at all CPU and GPU are the same -

The promise of a bubble-free installation is very appealing. Just don't think I want to spend $50 on a complete skin, though, especially with the Steam summer sale having just gone live.

Ooo. Steam summer sale. Looks like it's time to buy some more games that I won't have time to play to add to my ever-growing backlog.
I didn't think $50 was too bad for full cover on a laptop. Of course, I'm comparing to the Zagg products, which are a priced at something of a premium. -

I heard many not so good things about him. He, did not deliver his products for months on ebay under the name of jusstickit. So he decided to change his name and start over. -
If you use this promo code "lifeproof," you can get an additional 5% off your total purchase. I bought my first ipad last week and and I saw a person at my school with the skin. I asked him where did he get it, and he said stickerboy. He gave me this promo code which he says you can use it more than once.
I purchased blue carbon fiber for my mbp and iPad. Heating is required when for the curved surfaces which are the 4 corners of the ipad and mbpAttached Files:

where can i find these ?
is it a thin sticker or sort of a carbon shield u use on iphone etc ?
did u try gaming with ur RMBP and having that thing on it then checking tempetures ? -
I'm not much of a gamer these days because i'm in school fulltime. Since i use my macbook for taking notes, watching movies, etc., it's practically on all day except when i sleep. So i haven't really experienced any temperature problems. -

I was under the impression apple recommended not putting stickers on the parent area of the rMBP because it could mess up the screen...
Edit: It doesn't specifically say it would mess up the screen, just a possibility. MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012): Do not use palm rest covers

Do they say anything regarding heat issue ?
average temperture under load is about 67 to 75 degrees celsius..
I know that a huge part of the metalic macbook cover design is to help spread the generated heat.
What happens when u cover it with carbon at 75 degrees celsius?
