just ordered through Apple, cost me $899. Been picking my brain the last few weeks over which laptop to get. Was so close to ordering an older HP Envy 13 but just couldn't pass this up. Seems like a sweet deal, so I thought I'd spread the word.

its the 2010 model, isnt it?

yessir. hoping that last gen Core2 will last me a good while

its a decent deal but amazon had a better deal not to long ago which i picked up on. the 2010 2.66 ghz model brand new never opened for 1048.00 shipped.
i pondered about the whole sandy bridge issue and graphics was more important to me. 2.66 ghz is plenty fast especially once i up the ram to 8g and drop a ssd in there. the bonus is its quiet and runs cool as a cucumber. -

Microcenter is also offering the baseline 2011 13" MBP for $999 (new, not opened, just as if you had bought it directly from Apple). Given the performance of the Nvidia 320M and Intel HD3000, there shouldn't be any issues when comparing the two.

they have already been comparinsons and some games are close to 18 frames higher with the 320. the folks who keep pushing that its the same need to just enjoy their laptop and stop making excuses cause the benches have already been posted and anyone who actually read past page 1 knows this.

I can also look at benchmarks that fully use AMD's architecture and make it look like the victor in the GPU race. That is not the point of having benchmarks. The overall tests have shown that the 320M and HD 3000 are pretty much on par with one another.

Here is how I look at it. If you want to play games like counter strike, left 4 dead, and team fortress 2, then you won't have a problem. If you want to play games like starcraft 2 and modern warfare, you might have some problems. If you want to play games like crysis, you're gonna have problems. You don't really need high end graphics cards to play games. as long as its smooth its fine. With that being said, does anyone know how the intel hd 3000 compares to the 8800 gt desktop gpu from a few years back. Its the one I use, I bought it 3-4 years ago and it plays everything, save crysis, really well.

the benchmark of intel 3000 is not much higher than my 5 years Nividia Go7700 laptop GPU. I imagine it's not comparable at all with the desktop 8800GT
