    hello,
i recently tried to install bootcamp but it did not work. now I have this 32 gb partition that is greyed out under disk utility. Is there any way to recombine this back with the initial mac osx partition?

    thank you

Use the Boot Camp Assistant to restore the disk to a single partition. Apple has provided instructions in the Boot Camp Beta Setup & Installation Guide (PDF). Look under the section, "Removing Windows from Your Computer."
