Hour 40 or so in the Mac world.

Is there some kind of right click substitute in Mac? For example, in Word on a PC, if I misspell a word, I can right click and get spelling options. Is something like that possible with a Mac?

I still can't get over how bad the Palm interface software is for Macs. I don't have trouble synching, but the interface does not hold a candle to the interface for PCs. I'll be using parallels for Palm unless I can figure this out.

Is there a way to delete a single file from trash?

    Thanks.

I can't imagine that the Palm interface could be any worse than it is for PCs. Scary. I've never though about the single file delete - try right clicking it? When I used to run Word on OSX, the incorrect word would have a dotted red line underneath and just single-clicking on the word would bring up a list of alternatives. Did you enable two-finger right-clicking in system preferences?

yes there are various ways to right-click

one is to hold the ctrl button down while you click.

another, if you are on a trackpad, is to set the trackpad to recognise context clicks. go into system preferences and click 'enable secondary click' (or similar, I forget)... then if you hold one finger on the trackpad while you click it will also right-click.

in some programmes command-click is a shortcut to immediate right click actions. for example in to open in a new tab in firefox you can ctrl+click and select new tab, or you can do it immediately by pressing command+click.

Can't you go to trash and right click that single file and delete?

If you don't like that right clicking, get yourself a 'mighty mouse'

It's heat sensitive, so it can detect which side your finger is on when clicking, making it very easy to right click.

lmao look at the time difference in our post's, I was typing this up then up came your replies :D

To right click, put two fingers on the touchpad and click.

    1) Have you set up the two-finger touchpad right-click?

    2) You can't delete a single file. You have to empty the whole bin.

You can also get a right click by tapping with two fingers at the same time on the touchpad (have to enable this though).
