ok this is really annoying.. is there away to configure the right "alt/option" to work as "enter" key just like before?

That sucks, I use that key all the time in pathfinder.

    maybe try Double Command

I know it can remap a bunch of keys, might help, not sure though cause it hasnt been updated since the new macbooks came out.

the alt key is much much more useful.

you do realize there is an enter key literally 4cm away?

lol, I hardly ever use the alt key in OSX.

Although some programs use the second enter key differently. It is the enter key from the numpad, so its mapped differently.

i guarantee you that more programs would benefit from a second Alt/Option key.

being able to do many key commands with one hand is a very useful time saver.

yea, maybe thats so, but I dont really use many programs that use the alt key. Other the Photoshop, and other various adobe programs. But yea I get along fine with just the one alt, and I live on keyboard shortcuts.

And yea, in my situation, having an enter there is more useful, because in pathfinder its set to rename files. Pressing that one enter key, is a lot easier then any key combo.

But yea, to each his own, some people obviously mis the enter key, others dont.

you can rename files with the return key as well.

anyway, there are a lot of good programs out there to remap keys, and if it is a Unicode key, letters numbers, etc. not Cmd, Alt, Ctrl.

there are even ways to create proper keyboard layouts and enable them through System Preferences international menu.

the App i use is KeyRemap4 MacBook, it works just fine, I would like to find a way to do this without running another app but it is very very small and doesn't really use any resources.

that's one of the stupid things i dont like about osx, specifically finder, is that if i want to open a file, i have to press apple+o . thats wone reason i like pathfinder, is that i can just use the normal enter to open files, and the secondary to rename them. The best of both worlds. Maybe thers a way to change it so that enter does open files, but ive never looked into it.
