after finally getting the activation key from apple (1day after a claim of 2weeks!) i have to say i am impress once again by the UI.
as usually, for people who are tired of dealing with the background workings of anything (for those who have no interest in psychology of human, or economies of a market) apple is a great place where the black magic box perform everything.
calendar function is a little late for me as i had a work-around program that sync with gmail already, where my friends can see it in their own gmail account (free = higher reinforcement in activations and ownership); but the set up is definitely great and integration with iphone is seamless. exactly something i was hoping* for the first day i receive my iphone.
gallery is a big plus with total of 20gb(aggregated sum) of storage, it is easily accessible as a link is provided right on the top right corner; i have yet to figure out how to password-coding a folder though, i suppose if i don't give them the address no one would notice(?)
email is nice, what more can i say about an email anyways?
store is i think the weakest link of mobileme, period. it doesn't support uploading multiple file.
setup/preference is limited as usual.

I tried out MobileMe a bit using the free trial back then, and I agree that the interface is very well done. Unfortunately I wouldn't really have much use for the gallery and stuff, mainly email and storage, plus it does cost money, so I can't go for MobileMe right now.

i received the subscription from working as a sale; i know there are cheaper alternatives out there but mobileme is the only recent service of this kind i had subscribed to.
while i wouldn't comment for price but i have zero complaint having one

I've been using mobileme for a while now, since it was called .mac, but this year I plan not to renew my subscription.
Initially I was using all the features. But over time the shine wore off for me and began using only a few features of it. For what I'm using it now I have already found free alternatives that work just as well.
I agree the whole thing is very well integrated and the UI is nice, and for those making use of most/all the features then it's a great value.
IMO it's priced a little too high for the average consumer.
