Hi all, i have a MBP Santa Rosa with 4 GB Ram, I would like to play games on my mac, and so i am willing to use bootcamp to get the game groove going. What would you guys recomend? Should i buy Windows Vista Home Basic or Home Premiun ? is the retail CD both 64 and 32 bits or do i need to get specific versions? Also, i have installed vista before but i could not get the 64 bit version running, maybe it was my install disk, and another thing is the errors displayed by my mac while booting windows ( Regarding the hard disk not being formatted properly and resetting the root or somesuch ). Is there a good guide to install Vista on my Mac Book PRo ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Luis

For your needs, either OS would probably be okay. HOWEVER, Vista Home Premium has more features and in the long run will probably be more valuable for you.

    I'd take Home Premium.

My recommendation is to purchase windows vista business which then gives you downgrade rights to install xp onto your mac.

If you then later choose to use vista then you are perfectly able to replace your xp install with vista.

Much of the home premium functionality many users won't use but if you do want them then you can of course upgrade to ultimate.

If you have 4gb of ram, I'd think that 64bit vista would be the better choice.

I would also go with Vista Home Premium, but I'd go 64 bit, since you can then upgrade to 4gb of RAM and have it all be usable.
