with a native Windows boot... has anyone found a good option for controlling the fan speed?

Right now I have to set a minimum speed in SMCfancontrol and reboot...

The only two options I know of to control fan speeds in Windows is..

Input Remapper: Never worked for me... Vista or Windows 7... it freezes and causes all kinds of problems with the machine no matter what I do.

Lubbo's Fan Control: doesn't work, just gives me and error that it can't load the IO driver. I read that it currently doesn't work right with Bootcamp 3, and to kill bootcamp.exe in order to run it... but that doesn't help either, still the same IO error and it launches and cant detect fans or temps.

is there something else out there anyone has tried... or know how to get around the issues with these other two?

as an alternative you've got 'mac fan control'

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/macfan/

It's a kind of SMC-fancontrol, but than for windows, and it works with bootcamp.exe

They're working on automatic fan control options, as you can see at project details.

You can also try to undervolt you CPU in windows with programs like rm-clock, just like you do in OS X with coolbook, it keeps you CPU a bit cooler...

Good luck finding a solution ;)

well, this one works (MacFan), but its a bit horrid to use.. the temp monitor part stinks, but other apps can monitor temps. The fan speed change is ok, but its all command line so its kinda... blah... but at least it works and I cant change the speeds without having to reboot to change.
