    Hi All,
Will soon be getting 2.2 Macbook pro and will be using bootcamp to run windows. My main question is which type of windows is the better performer and particularly in regards to games.I have read differing reports on the net some sayiing xp is less buggy,or some will say vista runs immaculately.
Really need some comments to decide which is better,I would preferabely like to run Visat but have heard that it can really hog RAM.
Also what would be a suitable ammount to allocate for windows in the disk partition,I will be ung windows mailnly for games, and os/x for everything else.
    thanks all.

Go with XP. It's tried and true. Vista is... messy.
You also have to worry about software compatibility with Vista. And it's not only a RAM hog, but it takes up a HUGE amount of space. You would really need 2 gigs of ram and at least a 20 gig partition for it. The install of Vista alone takes roughly 7 gigs.
That, and Vista Ultimate and Business is expensive. The other version are too gimped to consider.

I agree with hollownail, stick with XP. Right now the only thing Vista has over XP in gaming is DX10, but as of now barely any (or is there any at all? I don't follow much) games uses DX10. And there's tons of bugs right now in Vista, and we have no idea if even SP1 will fix them all.

I have run both. I ran XP in my 2.16 C2D iMac before I sold it. It ran super smooth and gaming was just like running it on my real PC. I now run Vista Home Prem. on my 2.33 MBP and it it runs awesome. I haven't played many games yet on my MBP yet so I can't comment on it yet. My preference is using Vista. Albeit there are some bugs but I love the new interface. Just make sure you have a minimum of 2gigs of ram. On 1gig Vista is sluggish. With 2gigs it is as snappy as XP. I have since switched to Vista on all my home PC's. That is my 0.02....

I'd stick with XP at least until they release the service pack 1.
