i think thats all the info you need.

ps, i haven't tried any updates because i'm worried that something will go terribly wrong and it will affect future updates.

The latest Nvidia drivers work, but the 196.xx drivers run the coolest.

Interesting; so you are using directly the drivers available on nVidia's website?
I am currently using the one coming with Boot Camp.

196.xx drivers? That sounds very very old. Surely older than the OP's laptop (13 macbook pro 2010) and mine!
Current drivers for nVidia GT330M are already release 260.xx...

260.99 WHQL? I tried it and it did not detect the Geforce 320M. I'm currently running 265.66 thanks to LaptopVideo2Go's modified INF.

    Actually, though the OP's laptop had a 320m, not a GT 330m.

It might have been 260.89. I also used the 260.63 BETA drivers, and they worked great as well. But, remember, I went back down to 196.xx because there was no performance difference between the 260.xx and 196. And 196 ran cooler, so it was the clear choice.

I used the 260.63 BETA and it performed the same as 196.xx drivers. But, 260 drivers ran hotter. so I went down to 196.xx.

I wonder if I could get COD black Ops to run @ 45FPS + at native resolution with a 2.13ghz MBA...

Any chance at all? Haven't bought the game yet.

Somehow I really can't see that happening. I had an XPS 14 with an i5 560M and a Geforce GT 420M and it struggles to keep smooth framerates at 1366 x 768.

If this is the Macbook with an Intel GPU then no, not a chance. If it has an Nvidia GPU that yes, you could get 45 FPS on lowish settings.

With my MBP 13 I got 30FPS on highest settings.

hey guys, mind helping me out a little more?

i'm currently running 196.82 according to the NV panel. i'm just wondering if it supporting flash hardware acceleration(remember that i'm running windows in bootcamp).

with only 4 youtube videos running, its showing my CPU usage at ~75%. I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

No, I don't think hardware acceleration for Flash was implemented until the Forceware 250 drivers were released.

okay, finally managed to install 260.99 on my system straight from the nvidia site.

the first attempt froze my system during boot-up(the screen with the 4 glowing bubbles). the second attempt went off without a hitch.

anyhow, i ran and completed the dark knight 1080p trailer on youtube, then i opened a total of 4 NEW instances of the same trailer, noticed that it was noticably dropping frames, and then closed one window. with only 3 windows playing, it was running without noticable stuttering(MAYBE 1 frame/second was dropped). i don't know enough about flash to determine if there was caching involved or not. CPU usage was around 45% with regular dips to 30% and peaks of 70%(very few and very short - less than 5 seconds).

stupid me did NOT run this test before getting the new drivers on there.

as for heat, its not enough to be bothersome if you're wearing denim, but i wouldn't put it onto your bare lap.

If you want to reduce heat, I suggest running RMclock whilst in windows and undervolting the P8600.
I underclock my P8600 to 0.95v and it has dropped my heat massively whilst gaming. Also you can increase the fan speed manually with lubbos fan control
