hi,
when i'm working in os x my Macbook is around 60° Celcius. When i run Vista in Fusion and i run a .vmw video file, the temperature climbs to 80° Celcius!! Is this normal? As soon as i pause the vmw, tempartures goes down to 60° again. How's this possble? The .vmw video file almost doesn't display any moving video, cause it's a CBT displaying mostly slides with audio.

.vmw = .wmv of course!

some files take more cpu to decode. check ur cpu usage during playback and see if it is excessive.

Try playing the same wmv file in quicktime with flip4mac (freeware *). If the temp stays lower in quicktime under os x, don't bother with the windows virtual machine for the training video. If the temp is still high, you know it's the decoding and just live with it till you're done watching.
* actually it's shareware, but you don't need to register it just to watch wmv in quicktime.
vmw in Vista under Fusion creating lots of heat
