    Hi guys,
My family and I have been on a trip in the US. We have a bunch of photos and 2 hours of video. I'm searching for the best software to create some type of dvd with music/photos and video. I've done one of that kind (without videos though) with iDVD last year and the result was great I'd say. A couple of chapters with different photos and songs. If iDVD is a good option, can I add videos in the presentation easily? My video is uncut for now, all in one piece. If there a software to bring it from the camera to the computer and cut parts I don't want, make chapters (smaller movies) and put em in the presentation with the photos (with music).

    Thank you,

    Thomas

iMovie (which comes with the iLife package) is great for doing just that. I prefer iMovie HD rather than the newest iMovie but you can try both since Apple now allows iMovie HD as a free download to iMovie 08/09 users.

I thought Apple removed the IM-HD file from their download section upon the release of IL09, but I haven't gone looking for it since then.

I'd go with iMovie as well, because its simple and relatively quick. There aren't many other good free options.

If you are willing to spend money, Final Cut Express is great :p.
