I would like os X to be the default os that it boots to, but since using bootcamp and installing windows xp no mater what OS i was in and restart windows XP starts up unless I manually tell it to boot to os x.

Is there a way to change this?

Yes, under control panel there should be an item called startup disk, you can choose it in there. In OS X under system preferences I believe is also startup disk, same idea.
