    They are different, Zetx.

When I wanted a spare I would always use at my home desk for my 13" MB, I purposefully bought a charger Apple intended for a 15"/17" MBP (85 watt) for my 13". I leave the original (60watt) smaller one in my carry-around bag.

The use of such is no problem (Also per the Genius Bar guy I consulted first). Wattage rating (here) is only the capability of the unit ), if the device needs that specific wattage. I bought the larger one for home use with the logic that heat is the enemy that causes failure of most electronic devices. A 85 watt unit should, in theory, have greater durability, and dissipate heat better under the same load than the 60 watt would have. The voltage, and connection of both power supply adapters are identical. The only difference is physical size and capability. The price is the same.

I have no problems. I use the 85 watt unit on both my 13" MB and my newer 13" MBP. You should have no problem either.

p.s. You do know, that going the other way around won't work. Using a 60 watt charger on a device that needs 85 watts of power can damage the charger AND the device being charged, if it works at all.
