to those who have the latest macbook pro, the 2.4 or the 2.2 one with the led backlit screen, have you noticed any yellowish tint at the bottom of the screen? i have my macbook pro for more than a month now, and i think it is ok, until i came across this thread where they were talking about the yellowish issue in the latest led backlit screen of macbook pro, here is the link of the forum

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=343219

my macbook pro arrived last july 12, and it is perfect, (or i thought?) no dead pixels etc..,i also haven't noticed any yellowish at the bottom of the screen until i've come across this thread, i downloaded the photos from the first page, and when i tried viewing the photos from the preview, in the grey photo, the white square is definitely brighter at the top, but the square at the bottom, i noticed a super uber little bit yellowish, it's not yellow actually, more like of a dirty white, just not as bright as the top square, the black photo also, the top square is also bright white, but at the bottom, it is somewhat like dirty white, just a super small bit of yellow, but not so, it's more of like dirty white something, to pass the test, should the squares have to be equally brighter at the top and bottom ? i have 2.4ghz, matte display, samsung, week 23.

please help me, my macbook pro is working fine, and i haven't noticed any yellowing in it, even when browsing blank white safari background, until i came across the testin gray and black photos, is there something wrong with my macbook pro? please help me analyze it....

i don't know what to do with my mbp, i don't know if i have to send this back to my reseller, because, i'm afraid,of what i've read that some have their replacement that have worser cases, like much yellower or with dead pixels, the other thing that bothers me is that i only noticed the yellow thing when i read this forum, maybe, this is ok? but since, i can't stop thinking about this anymore, please help me decide, please,,.... please take a look at the photos below, i had no camera with me, so i took the pictures with my n70 so the photos are not so clear, please help me decide...

The yellow screen issue has been pretty publicized, especially in the first few production runs. Since you didn't notice it until you actually tried to find it, and your screen has no dead or stuck pixels, I'd say just stick with your current MBP.

Looking through your pictures I can't notice any yellowing.

thanks for the replies... i just wonder what bad does the yellow thing can do overtime? can it get much worser as in much yellower as time goes by? those are my fears, so i really don't know what to do, to return or not to return....

My screen happens to be from Samsung, I turned the light onto it's brightest, white as it can be! Thank God, I'm usually so bad with getting software, I took back my PSP 4 times, before giving up because of screen issues.

The yellowish screen probably won't get worse over time. And personally, if you've never noticed it before until you actually read about it, then its probably barely noticeable. Just keep your current MBP as long as it doesn't get any worse/no other problems show up.

Mine is completely identical to yours and im thinking the same thing too. However if I exchanged it i might get the same exact problem maybe worse. The best thing to do is keep your mbp and just be happy with it dont stress out over a slightly darker spot its not even noticeable unless your doing that test and on mine which screen is idential to yours i dont see any problem at all when I'm doing photing editing browsing the internet or playing games. and There's no such thing as a "PERFECT LAPTOP"

    Paragraphs make reading easy! ;) :p :)

Anyways, I agree with you, janp105. Most people fail to remember that a Mac is not perfect. A Mac just usually is a lot better than the rest :p.
