Hi everyone
Firstly, I'm sorry for my written English, I'll do my best to be understandable
I bought my Asus G46VW one year ago, I now want to upgrade and to make it young again
What I want to do is :
- upgrade RAM to 12GB ( add a CRUCIAL SO-DIMM DDR3 8 GB PC12800 )
- add a 120GB MSATA SSD ( SSD CRUCIAL M500 - 120 GB - MSATA )
- flash the latest unlocked BIOS
- install a fresh win7+ubuntu dualboot on the new msata SSD
not sure about the order it must be done
What do you think about that ?
Will the M500 MSATA fit in my G46 ? Is it "safe" ? I've seen people talking about fixing it with duck tape.. huhu (I don't want it to disconnect after a while..)
Any objection before I order the Crucial SSD and DDR3 module (both are 70) ?
About the unlocked BIOS, it look like a secret vodoo stuff, given to how people don't talk about it in public forum, can somebody explain me ?
About the dual boot, I've read things about the way the OS is installed, I don't want to miss a thing ( sang aerosmith.. )
Want to use Ubuntu for emulation ( Wii, N64, PS2...) so I need to be able to overclock GPU & CPU, that's also why I need unlocked BIOS
Thanks for reading all this mess
Last question : do you run Dolphin (wii emulator) on your G46 ? How does it run ?
[G46 UPGRADE] Looking for advice/help (SSD + RAM + Unlocked BIOS + ...)
