I'm looking to see what performance increases that can be had with some further OC'ing and TIM repasting (the 660m struggles on a FHD screen). I'm not looking for great jumps, just something that would help this machine to handle FFXIV at FHD.

    BUT . . .
I can't seem to find a G46vw unlocked bios floating around anywhere :(. Could anyone point me in the right direction to where I could obtain one?

Looks like a user called klem over at tech inferno is offering a modified file for a donation.

Thanks for the heads up. It seems I won't be pursuing OC'ing then. I won't be with this machine for much longer anyway, but was hoping to send it off to a friend with optimal settings :(.

A tweaked machine really needs to be in the hands of an experienced user in case something goes wrong I have found usually, you still get the +135mhz limit on the GPU so you can speed it up a little for games.

The I5 CPUs are locked so there is not much you can do anyway with an unlocked bios.

Your right. Sometimes I forget that not everyone is willing to spend ours of their time to research, tweak and troubleshoot their systems.

Hopefully this is not to late but there is a modded BIOS for the G46VW. You can find it either at techinferno or ROG forums under my name or search g46vw modded bios
