I just installed Halo 2 on my G73 so i could replay it until some games that I like come out. I put the settings on 1920x1080 with all settings low. As I start playing, the fan on the GPU side goes crazy. Why?

For a machine of this caliber, shouldnt the temps not reach to the point of the fans go that fast? Halo 2 is an old game after all

Most likely because it's just like SC2 before the patch, rendering an insane amount of frames that are unnecessary. Try turning on Vsync if Halo 2 has it, should stop it from going nuts on you.

I highly recommend that you repaste as well, your laptop isn't going to last a very long time with temps like that. My maximum temp is the same as yours, and I've held off on extended gaming sessions until I get something ICD7 and repaste.

It's the exact opposite. Higher the calibre of notebook, the better cooling and fans are needed. You may want to read up more on what a high end laptop is because your question is a little odd.

Im still trying to find some good paste. Tried dismantling mine but didnt have much success. I couldnt get the KB off. Damn ASUS's double sided tape. I just cant get the KB off without severely bending<?> it.
