    Grab the newest driver for the device online. Uninstall the device from device manager, reboot, it'll find it again. Point it to the driver you loaded and reinstall.

    If that doesn't work I'd pop it open and reseat the card and check the antenna connections.

    I just posted this on another thread in this forum, and am reposting a shortened version here to try to save others the "No Connections" frustration on the Asus G72 - Trish

    * * *

    I've had this same problem since I bought the darn thing in March. I had it on the first machine I bought from Best Buy within a few days of purchase. Thinking it was an isolated problem, I then returned that one and got a new one A few months later, had the SAME problem, and ASUS fixed it under warranty.

    And just yesterday, the wireless switch went out AGAIN. So, this is obviously a hardware problem inherent to this G72 model. I've reading different posts on the Internet and it seems that you have to somehow reboot the ADAPTER, not the whole computer, to get it to turn back on. Some people recommend that you turn the switch off, turn the machine off, turn the switch back on, and then turn the machine back on. Worked for them, didn't work for me. Some suggest reinstalling the drivers--luckily, I didn't have to do that. (at least not this time around)

    Here's what I did: I used an ethernet cord to hook the laptop into the Internet that way. When I did that, the Ahteros Wireless Switch Adapter was automatically disabled. I got online to ensure that the Internet was working via ethernet connection.

    Then, I removed the ethernet cord to sever that connection, went back into Control Panel/Device manager, and enabled the Atheros Wireless Network Adapter. Then it worked again. I think it just needs to be "rebooted" like that to get going again.

    If this doesn't work for you, then I'd try getting on the Internet via ethernet connection and reinstalling the drivers.
