[Q]G50vt x5 Lid replacement.

I have the G50vt x5 with the orange flames on the lid. I really dislike them.
I want to replace the lid with something less orange flamey.
I do not want to cover it up with a sticker or anything like that unless that is my only option.

Has anyone ever replaced the lid on this model? or know a tutorial or something on how to? Even if it is to replace the LCD. Schematics of the lcd/lid would work too.
I want to avoid breaking any of the clips holding it together.

Also, Does anyone know which other model lids will fit the g50vt?

I think you can replace it with the white G51 lid. Didn't Asus make a G50 with a blue lid too?

They did make one with blue flames, it looks better but still not great imho.

How can I be sure that the G51 lid is identical in size?
and is there anywhere I can buy just the lid? I contacted asus, but they haven't gotten back to me.

You could try eBay, I checked earlier and didn't see any though.

 

The g50 and g51 lids are indeed interchangeable.
