Hi there, i recently got a new laptop (The Asus G73JW), and so far everything is Wonderful.
The only thing i didn't like was that the Media keys (Play/Stop Next/Previous) worked for Media Center and WMP only, and i wanted to use these with Itunes. Researching some time got me able to use my Media keys with Itunes properly. And i decided to do a Tutorial since i saw a lot of people wondering how. Its basic but some folks really don't know.
First, Install Itunes Control: Itunes Control
Right clic on the Tray icon, and go to settings, then on the Settings, go to "Hotkeys" and put the Play/Stop/Next/Previous with a combination of Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Letter Key
. Something lke this:
![]()
Then hit apply and close.
Next download Asus Notebook Keys v1.3 by NP: Asus Notebook Keys v1.3
And extract them in a folder together, you will have 2 files, first open "AsusNbKeys" and then "AsusNbKeysCtrl"
Once the program is opened, click on "Add New Event" and then press the Fn Key + Down/Right/Left/Up (depending wich is the one you want for Play/Stop/Next/Previous) and then click on the "Keystroke" box to enable it and select the key you selected on itunes Control for the function you want. Then on Description put what you want.
Continue adding the Hotkeys until you finish, then you should have something like this:
![]()
Click on Save, and then Close.
Now everytime you hit the Media Key (FN+Down/Up/Left/Right) you should see a little blue box poping up saying the name of the song that is now playing.

Nah, you can map those keys to Foobar2000. No need for iTunes.
