Max volume seems improved on my G74 , but actually i don't like thoses drivers that much : using the settings given on the youtube video , the sound is a bit better while playing on speakers , but become AWEFULL when playing with a headset.

As i only use my speakers for ty lolcat youtube vidz or beep beep on Facebook, i don't find them really usefull. Only Sonic Focus settings improved sound a bit ( well , offering new possibilities ) , but i disabled SRS AND dolby to have something proper to my ears ..

Maybe there's something wrong on my settings , but using the SRS settings given , it sounds horrible.

It is the same for me, more than enough for the daily use like watching movies. The maximum volume is getting a bit louder though if you enable Sonic Focus.

Well it should be obvious that you can't use the speaker specific settings for your headset which is working in a total different way. The inbuilt speakers are using probably a simple frequency-separating filter which is not really working well without the shown SRS settings in my video. I personally disable also SRS when I use my headset and only make some fine tuning with the Windows equalizier.

Hmm, I cannot seem to get SRS to work. I get the message: SRS is temporary inactive to give you the best performance with the following software. To activate SRS, delete the software below, and restart the system (loosely translated from dutch):

    Creative X-Fi MB Software Suite.

Any ideas how to fix this? I am on Windows 8 with a G73JH.

By the way, if you are like me, and get the " 0xE000024B" error during installation, follow the following guide (found here):
